The Tony Awards this year were a fantastic display, not just of what is happening on the cutting edge of the live theatre, but also what is happening in our world with regards to social justice. Above all, I was really happy that James Corden's opening number stressed upon how special live theatre is because it is LIVE! There is something so special about going out to the theatre to see a show, and knowing that the actors are right there in the room with you working hard for you. YAY LIVE THEATRE!!!!

I came across this article yesterday from the New York Times, and it brought me great joy to read it. It is so very interesting to get into the mindset of others, and learn about their creative process, especially those whose writing one greatly admires.
Miranda and Sondheim This is a documentary worth watching on Netflix. In this particular documentary audiences are introduced to a young Orson Welles at the start of a brilliant career in the entertainment industry. Welles was an actor in Radio Drama, and one night the play took on a life of its own. As described on the Netflix website "Mass hysteria resulted when young Orson Welles broadcast a radio production of the sci-fi classic "The War of the Worlds" disguised as news in 1938. This documentary is certainly worth viewing if you enjoy history and theatre.
